With each video we create, we want to explore local hotspots and heroes – places and people that make the Northern Beaches what they are, a warm and inviting community. Splat in Queenscliff is just such a place and one that had been recommended to me multiple times by my good friend Water.
Located a bit out of the way beneath a red brick building and with a beautiful view, Splat is well known amongst both locals and visitors to the Northern Beaches. Owners Pip and John have been here for 8 years and have created the kind of environment that attracts people of all sorts to come, make friends, and enjoy the view of Manly Beach.
I can say the food is fantastic, but so too is the fact that such a small and seemingly out of the way café has a vibe very much like a pub where people will come and meet and spend time together almost every day. Where regular customers know each others’ names and where they share tables and have their own seats where they will relax with a cup of cappuccino or a plate of French toast every morning.
Mentioned in real estate ads as a local destination, directed there by friends in the region, and enjoyed by people who want a warm, relaxing atmosphere in which to spend their mornings, Splat is very much the kind of place you should visit when in Queenscliff or nearby in any of the Northern Beaches suburbs.
While you won’t find a dedicated website, you can find Splat’s menu on Menulog and Facebook, and they are open every day between 7:30am-3:30pm for breakfast and lunch.
